C.DESIGN is an Australian brand, originally established in 1993, and revived in 2023. The brand was founded by Claire Metcalf and Gavin Eddy on the principles of sculpting and foundational balance from Claire’s early expressions through ballet and performance art. The original designs reflected a coming-of-age era in fashion, encapsulating a raw and timeless spirit of the pre-internet age.

Throughout 10 years of independent business, C.DESIGN became internationally renowned, stocking their collections in department stores and boutiques across London, Milan and New York, and seen on Gisele Bundchen, Elle Macpherson, Kylie Minogue and Megan Gale.

In the early 2000s, Claire and Gav boxed the last of their bikinis samples, sewing machines and loose threads, to turn late nights of needlework into raising their three children, Tia, Taj and Sienna.

Now, 20 years later, the family of 5 have revived the iconic brand, offering swimwear focused on that very same raw and timeless spirit of the 90s. Collections are developed from the original patterns with a sense of modern reinvention to create a trusted resort wardrobe with uncompromising quality in mind.

It is C.DESIGN’s mission to continue the family fashion business with attention to a sophisticated production practice producing timeless designs that have remained in the closets of family and friends for decades.

Our parents built a reputation of hard work, unmatched quality and a quiet elegance that was unseen and unmistakable. They created a brand which equally focused on making a mark in the fashion industry as it did establishing a life and a legacy. CDESIGN was a lifestyle, created by two teenagers unafraid to push the boundaries of fashion, with a drive that would create – in the words of Holly Richards (The West Australian) - “one of the most successful swimwear labels in Australia.”
